A Woman’s Worth

 A woman in her glory, a woman of beauty, is a woman who is not striving to become beautiful or worthy or enough. She knows in her quiet center where God dwells that He finds her beautiful, has deemed her worthy, and in Him, she is enough.”

– Captivating by John and Stasi Eldredge

Oh how I wish that women would see themselves as His tabernacle where He dwells and not what she wears, what the world thinks is beautiful, sexy, or has a career to be envied.

1 Cor 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

1 Cor 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.

There is so much more to life than attracting the opposite sex and/or being a feminist.  When your loved ones look you in the eyes, what do you want them to see?  They won’t be looking for good looks or a price tag, but a mind whose heart is on them and not on themselves, God’s love through you to them.

1 Peter 3:3 Whose adorning let it not be that outward adorning of plaiting the hair, and of wearing of gold, or of putting on of apparel;

1 Peter 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

Just a thought:  When you’re old and on your death bed, will you really care if those who come to see you have the latest fashion, is wealthy or has prestige?  No!  You would want someone who has practiced the art of loving concern and faithfulness towards God.  They will have the words you want to hear and the comfort that you so need.

So, set you heart on things above.  Set your goals on God’s doctorate degree of His character and do your homework.  Someday, you will look back and honestly say that it was the greatest knowledge you could have ever received or pursued.

 Hag 1:5 Now therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Consider your ways.

 Luke 12:34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Keep up the good work ladies!  Today is your day to meditate on the curriculum of outgoing concern – to be a woman of great worth!
