Psalms of a Woman

A Poem To My Spiritual Children

Godly Mothers Worth

My daughters, God’s dear Children

Sometimes you feel weighed down

You seem to focus on your faults

At times no worth abounds

Our world comes short on words of praise

So praise you will be given

When in your life you can’t perceive

What shows, your Godly living

Everyday you seek God’s will

And ask to be refined

Some days you surely struggle

But seek and ye shall find

You seek a better way of life

A way your God has shown

And when you see your frailty

You let your God atone

It’s he who smote upon his breast

And cried to God on high

That our Father looks upon

For whom He came to die

Yes, you know your frailty

But we must not exclude

The part you play to build His house

The talents you exude

You’re patient and forgiving

You weep with those in pain

You know the worth of character

Compared to earthly gain

You hold the truth in high esteem

You seek her, as would gold

You give to it to your children for

To cherish and to hold

There are few so women blessed

That mothers care to boast

God’s given me a family tree

Yes, this I treasure most.
